Consider that you may be able to get more information on high-profile crimes falling under the crime typologies covered in this Module.

In this introduction, be sure to include current data (numbers, statistics, etc., no older than 2016) indicating the extent of your selected crimes in the United States. For instance, you selected auto theft (a type of property crime). You would provide a definition of auto theft in your own words (including all important legal elements in your definition), and briefly discuss the property crime typology. You would then provide data on the extent of this crime in the U.S. using the UCR and other reliable sources.
